Monsters In My Head

There are monsters in my head.

I dream about them all the time.

Their power is hallucinating.

They capture my soul and I have no control over my body and mind.

I fall asleep with knowing that I am going on a journey.

I swoop to the air, my feet lazily swaying down.

My head is already in the clouds.

Their power is intoxicating.

I see myself up above all the dark world.

I feel strenght, I feel excitement, I feel certainty.

I feel satisfaction.

I am in state of serenity.

I don’t want to leave this dream.

There are monsters in my head.

But there are moments when I feel I am one of them.

Your bolded lines really give weight to your poem. Not a dream I would want to have.

Thank you 😊 … yes, some dreams can be pretty dark, right?

I love this the notion that your mind can take you all sorts of places and then you begin to think you may be one of the monsters living in your head, but of course which one might that be? You put so much into this poem, so therefore so much to think about…well done..

Splendid write I love my dream worlds though I don’t usually visit with my monsters .. however I think that it can be true that the known monsters can feel friendlier than the unknown “whatevers”.

Thanks a lot 😊 It is true that dreams like this can be horrific and tempting in the same time 😄

There is a different charm when one starts feeling comfortable with their monsters. Enjoyed your poem.
