Friday Fictioneers: Quick Escape

4 May

PHOTO PROMPT © Roger Bultot

They had just a few minutes to leave the town and they would never see their home again.
Greta looked out of the window and saw the crows sitting on the telegraph wires.

“As if they are waiting for us to leave, so that they can take everything away.”
Their small house was not safe anymore. It would be the first place the soldiers would be heading to.

“And so they will”, Hans knew what would happen if they would not run away. Concentration camp for her and public execution for him.

Hans took the hand of his wife and ran, leaving everything behind.

FFfTPP: Sky Is My Meadow

28 Apr

I had waited years for this day.
Watching the sky since I was a kid.
Dreaming of flying up there
with all the pilots
and cutting the clouds in half,
sitting in the beautiful,
powerful machine.

This day is all mine.
Today I will be one of them,
of that dreamy pilots,
brave and fearless bird.
I shall never be afraid,
for sky is my meadow,
where I belong.

On the cold mountain of Himalayas, you need something that warm up your heart.

There, under the mountain, a small cabin is hidden behind the trees. The red tea-pot shining from the kitchen welcomes you whenever you enter the cabin.

It is always ready, waiting for the lost souls who need to warm up and find their way back home.

TLT: Unbearable Lightness of Being

14 Apr

“Play some nice song, father.”

Priest sitting behind his old piano, turned to his parishioners. He smiled and played first tones of their favourite song.

The good spirit of the day floated across the room. It was one of those days when you feel the lightness if being…

No Way Out

“Oh my God, oh my God, they are home!” Emily got swamped by horror.

“What do I do? What do I do?” she desperately tried to find some place to hide. As a miracle from heaven the door of an old wardrobe opened with squeaking sound… She jumped to the wardrobe and tried to make as little noise as possible.

Emily didn’t expect anybody to be at home. This was her only opportunity to find the truth about her family’s murder. Police finalized the investigation and did not find anything. No weapon, no trace, no nothing? Really? She could not accept this as an end. And so she started her own investigation.

There were a few people she suspected. And the biggest candidate she had on mind to be convicted was her ex-boyfriend, crazy psychopat who recently ended his stay in psychiatric clinic.

She sneaked into his home and was determined to find some evidence. But as soon as she started to search his office, somebody came  home.
She listened to the voice of her own fear from within the wardrobe. A person was approaching the office. The door slowly opened and he came in. The silence in the room was oppressive.
Suddenly the wardrobe door opened and there he was. Standing in front of her smiling. His face expression was calm and cold in the same time.

“So this is how you pay back all that love I gave you during our years together?” his voice cutting the tick air.

His hand aggressively grabbing her arm was the last thing she remembered…

Well… I don’t know how did I come up with this story, but here it is… :D…this time it is little bit longer.

A Reckless Decision

3 Apr

collage-20

Louise packed her last things and watched her room in a silence. She looked to the walls, to the chair she used to sit every day, to the bed she used to lean her body every night on exhausted from work on a farm. She looked to the bookshelf above her bed for the last time.

Circus. That was her passion and ticket to the life she had always dreamed of.  She wanted to be part of the famous shows, to become a part of such crazy and beautiful world. Soon she will be on the road towards her freedom.

Her heart was beating fast as she was coming down the stairs to say last good-bye to her mother. Eyes  gazing downward, afraid to say a word, she approached the kitchen where her mother was sitting at the table, waiting for her daughter to change her mind.

“Tell me what it is you plan to do with your one wild and precious life?” her mother disapproved. In the fear of loosing her daughter forever, she hoped Louise would stay when she’d see her mother’s sadness.

“This is my destiny, mother. At least I have to try, don’t you understand? This is my chance to get out of here and become someone.”

“You are someone. You don’t have to join some freak show to find that out!”

Mary regretted those last words since. She never got the chance to take them back, for Louise never returned to her mother’s arms again.

The Hunted Ones

22 Mar

“Meet me at the old photo centre. That is the safest place.”

Jerry hung up. He didn’t have much time. The situation needed some decision. Now or never.
He took his gun and jumped into the car. This was the first time after years that he felt that much adrenaline in his veins.

He agreed to meet Greta near the old photo centre. Their ways separated there a few years back. Yet he couldn’t get her out if his head. They both were trying to escape Bill, the worst hitman in Virginia. They figured separating would be the best way how to get rid of Bill.

He arrived five minutes earlier then her and watched Greta to slowly approach the photo centre.
“There she is. This time I am not letting her go.” Jerry got out of the car and when he was about to close the door, he felt huge pressure on his chest. Then he saw the explosion. His body flew away as a feather. His eyes were full of smoke but he was trying to find Greta and hoped she survived the explosion.

Greta’s body disappeared together with the old photo centre’s building. At that moment Jerry decided not to be the hunted one anymore. From then on he became the hunter. He swore himself that he won’t stop until he kills the hitman himself.

Monsters In My Head

15 Mar

pulled-by-clouds-brooke-shaden

– Brooke Shaden

There are monsters in my head.

I dream about them all the time.

Their power is hallucinating.

They capture my soul and I have no control over my body and mind.

I fall asleep with knowing that I am going on a journey.

I swoop to the air, my feet lazily swaying down.

My head is already in the clouds.

Their power is intoxicating.

I see myself up above all the dark world.

I feel strenght, I feel excitement, I feel certainty.

I feel satisfaction.

I am in state of serenity.

I don’t want to leave this dream.

There are monsters in my head.

But there are moments when I feel I am one of them.

She Used To Love Me, But Then…

14 Mar

week-101

Vincent closed his tattoo studio and started to walk towards the bar across the street. It was his every day routine since he and Sophie broke up. Since that moment he became a nyctophile and spent almost every night walking on the streets in drunken haze.

During the day he was very precise in his work. Every tattoo he created had it’s own structure and each piece was a briliant work of art. He immersed to his work  right after Sophie broke his heart. He realized that work distracted his mind in the right way and from then on he worked nonstop every day.

He might not know this, but Sophie felt the pain in her heart for a very long time. She couldn’t figure out what is the cause. Her life with Vincent was perfect until it wasn’t. She knew she was supposed to be happy, but she didn’t feel happiness in her heart for months. And so she started to seek some help. She started to visit church almost every day until she realized she is happy only when she is talking to God. This was not night to morning decision. But after a few months she was absolutely certain she wanted to become a nun.

Vincent was devastated. He didn’t understand. To this day he couldn’t adjust to the thought she could leave him like this. They had a dozen of eristic discussion, but her decision was final and irretrievable.

And so now he was wandering on the street near the novitiate where Sophie was staying. It was one of those darkest rainy nights. Lurking behind the novitiate walls he was trying to spot her window. He didn’t want to terrorize anybody but didn’t realize that with his appearance and drunken mood might quite possibly do so.

He glared at the gigantic walls that separated him from the love of his life. Usually he just drowned his anger in a bottle of whiskey. But tonight he wanted to get all this anger and desperation out. So he started to shout:

“Why??? Why did you choose THIS instead of me? I was here for you! Tell me why?? I loved you! I gave you all my life! And you left me! For this…for God! How can I compete with God?”

Nobody came out. It was as nobody heard him. It was just him standing in the rain waiting for a miracle that would save him from this misery.

It took him a while to understand that this was the end. That he had to move on. But he took a decision to try to understand. Because it was the only possible way for him to heal.
