First Line Friday: The Click

1 Sep

When Sahi returned to The Ridge there was nothing left but charred wood jutting from the snow.
Everyone was gone. Peter, Sarah, Nathan, they all just disappeared.

What happened here? Where is everybody?  Sahi didn’t want to freak out yet. There must be an explanation.

When Sahi left here, it was like another Sunday morning. Peter was in a good mood, so he decided to prepare breakfast for all of them. Sarah was still asleep and Nathan…wait a minute. Where was Nathan? His room was empty when Sahi left. He never went outside alone. He had this huge fear that he would get lost in the woods. But why was his room empty? Where did he go?

Sahi wanted to call Peter, but there was no signal in this area. She was practically all alone staring in disbelief on the burned wood. When she wanted to get closer look and made a step towards the burned place, she heard steps approaching her. Nathan!

“Nathan? Oh, thank god you are here! What happened here? Where is evereyone?…Nathan? Are you…?”
“Sahi, strange thing happened here. Actually I woke up in a very good mood. But then…”
“Nathan, why is there blood on your face?”
The silence that followed could cut the air around them.

“I wish you wouldn’t ask, Sahi.”

Awakening

29 Jan

Even as a child I knew there is something special around us. Like a color veil waving around in the air.

My mother was a witch. The “A” marked old fashion witch from the small town full of superstitious people. To be a woman with special abilities and free wild mind in such a tight environment…well, it is quite a difficult role to play.

As a child of a woman who has been rejected by the society, you would guess I end up as a repressed child. Or in the worst case, the devil worshiper in its worst way possible.

But my mother gave me the most beautiful gift a mother could give. She taught me to be strong, honest and in the same time a kind person. And when I finally reached the right age, she showed me what I had felt for such a very long time. She showed me the real meaning of the beautiful color veil that was surrounded me since I was born. It was my own power coming out from within me.

As a daughter of a woman that was only a dirt in the eyes of the society, I never wanted to become like her. I spent days and nights praying I would become normal ordinary person. But as soon as I felt that raging power, I blossomed as the most beautiful flower. I opened my feathers as the most proud peacock. The door of the secret garden was wide open for me.

Your footsteps

21 Jun

Brooke Shaden

I can hear you laughing,
as you were still here.
I can see you walking on the beach,
as I saw you years ago.
As if you have never left.
I remember those days,
when you called my name,
to follow your lead.
Now it is just me here.
I have nobody to follow.

And Her Dream Came True…

29 May

She was a dreamer,
walking on a cloud
catching blue butterflies.

Never wanting to give up,
she had a clean target.
For most of us impossible vision,
for her the only possible way of living.

There in the mountain,
in the middle of nowhere,
she lives and keeps her dreams alive.
To live clean a healthy life away from this world.
To be far from technology and modernity.

She went back to the life as she knew it before.
And she is happier than she ever was.
How she did it, you may ask.
Well, sometimes your only available transportation is a leap of faith.

The Warning

24 May

– Adam Hague

The forest was calm and I was in peace
when suddenly,
It came like a big shout out,
passing around me like a ghost.
All that pain and sorrow,
all that screaming.
I knew it was something unbearable.
There was only a few times I felt so sure.
And this time I knew,
that it was time to run.

Utopia

17 May

Deep wide ocean surounds me
and I breath that fresh air,
deep into my lungs.

This is my personal world,
my private Idaho.
Too small boat you’d think,
but it is the biggest boat,
that I’ve ever bern on.

Birds flying around me.
I am finally free,
this is my Utopia.

Whiskey In The Jar

18 Apr

Only she knew what happened
and how it ended.
It was gone with the evening wind.
Their precious love was pretended.

Now only misery was left.
In her evening delirium,
sitting near the bar,
drinking her smooth whiskey in the jar.

What happened, she asked,
is our paradise lost?
Why am I no longer your diva,
your Goddess, your Eva?

The bar will close in a few,
the window is wer from a morning dew.
She felt her inner voice within,
insatiable power to not give in.

Her lust for some illicit move,
made her order another booze.
Her husky voice called out for barman,
one more, brother!
She slapped the bar with her palm down.

So what now? To hunt him down?
To make him look like a clown?
But how it helps me, she asked.
To forget everything about the past…

The fear from adronitis was too high,
the comfort given from all sides
was not easy to buy.

Let’s turn it around, she thought,
so that later in years she could say,
it mattered that I fought.
For me and my better future.
Cheers to that !

When We Were Young

17 Apr

I am the one who took you to this place
You told me you loved it
We were like crazy children,
jumping up and down
the real world was far from us,
we lived in our own cocoon.
Forest was the safe alley for us.
The only home that we knew.

One day you flew away from our cocoon,
saying you want more than this,
wanting to become a part of something.
I never heard your voice again.

Now I am alone,
lying in our rocking net,
waiting that you vanish from my heart,
waiting for that strong bond to break.

Nobody would believe today
that we lived alone out there.
I am the proof of that,
for I am still here,
sitting in the community of trees,
resting my old bone.

I’m a tree that grows hearts,
one for each that you take.

Tritina Poem – The Crown Full of Trees

16 Apr

Deb Gibson, Canadian Artist, Kilarney, acrylic on canvas

In my dream, there’s a calm river
washing the above towering rocks
with the crown full of trees.

Strong and toxic green are those trees
reflecting in the crystal clear river
that covers and hides slick rocks

These old and still aging rocks
envy the beauty of those green trees
admire their reflection in the river.

Only the calm and silent river, slowly bathering the rocks can never touch the beautiful crown full of trees.
